Purpose of the Award

Love Your Block (LYB) is for neighborhood groups who are interested in making a difference in their community. The program is designed to develop and build neighborhood capacity. Participants will discover the unique traits of leadership and find a place to learn, study and grow into that leader.

Community leaders create positive change and cultivate stronger, more engaged neighborhoods. Participants gain insight into group dynamics, leadership style, and a more in-depth look at how the city works for them. LYB is an exciting collection of instructor-led, highly participatory workshops designed to increase resident knowledge and equip them to make a dynamic impact in their community. Groups are able to apply for a grant up to $5000 to implement a sustainable project in their community.
